The Sage Bambino (BES450) is a manual espresso machine designed for those who refuse to choose between performance and simplicity. Built around the 4 key elements of specialty coffee – precise dosing, controlled temperature, optimal pressure, and artisanal micro-foam – it brings the demanding standards of the best coffee counters into your home, in a surprisingly compact stainless steel body (only 15.5 cm wide).

Its ThermoJet® heating system is one of its most remarkable assets: the ideal extraction temperature is reached in 3 seconds, without compromising energy efficiency (up to 32% less consumption compared to a traditional thermoblock). The professional 54 mm portafilter, designed to hold 18 g of coffee, guarantees a rich and balanced extraction. Low-pressure pre-infusion, followed by an increase to 9 bars, allows the coffee grounds to gradually expand and reveal the full aromatic complexity of the bean.

The manual steam wand transforms milk into silky micro-foam in seconds – ideal for making your daily cappuccinos, lattes, and flat whites, with or without barista experience. The Bambino comes with a complete set of accessories (stainless steel jug, single and double wall filter baskets, ClaroSwiss water filter) to get started in the best conditions from the very first cup.

What coffee should you use to prepare espresso?

To make an espresso, we recommend a dark roast coffee. This characteristic will be highlighted by the espresso machine's rapid pressure extraction system. Araku Selection organic specialty coffee is specifically designed for making espresso. Its intense roast brings out rich and deep aromas. The carefully selected beans offer perfect concentration and intensity for use with the Sage Bambino espresso machine, creating a full-bodied beverage, also ideal as a base for milk-based drinks.

Yes, the Bambino is an excellent entry-level machine. Its simplified interface with just a few buttons allows you to prepare an espresso in a few steps, without complex adjustments. Nevertheless, it integrates professional functions (pre-infusion, 54mm portafilter, volumetric control) that support your natural progression towards more precise extraction over time.

The Bambino performs at its best with freshly ground coffee, preferably within two weeks of roasting. It is compatible with single-wall filters (for quality ground coffee) and double-wall filters (for a more accessible result with pre-ground coffee). To enhance its extraction capability, we recommend our Araku specialty coffees, roasted for espresso, such as the Sélection.

After each use, be sure to empty and thoroughly rinse the portafilter, filter, and brew group. Neglecting this maintenance can lead to performance issues. To preserve the quality of your Sage Bambino espresso machine, follow the manufacturer's instructions for regular descaling using a specific product. Don't forget to also clean the water tank and the nozzle of your espresso machine.
